Account Executive – Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) Overview

We are seeking an experienced Account Executive specializing in Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) to join a high-performing controls and automation team. This role focuses on developing strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for system integration, and delivering customized smart-building solutions that enhance HVAC performance, energy efficiency, and overall operational intelligence.

The ideal candidate combines consultative sales skills with technical understanding of HVAC controls and automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage new and existing B2B client relationships across commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, and education sectors.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate BAS/BMS with HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct site assessments, client consultations, and technical discussions to evaluate needs and propose value-driven solutions.
  • Prepare proposals, quotes, and RFP responses in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through negotiation and closing.
  • Partner with internal engineers and project teams to ensure solution accuracy, proper pricing, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and activity reports.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, smart-building trends, and energy-efficiency innovations.
  • Represent the organization at trade shows, industry events, and networking functions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred, not required).
  • 3–7 years of experience in B2B sales within Building Automation, HVAC Controls, or Energy Management.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, DDC controls, BAS/BMS integration, and IoT technologies.
  • Proven track record of success in technical or solution-based sales.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to engage and consult at the executive level.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within assigned territory.
  • Technical aptitude with ability to translate complex systems into clear client solutions
