Key Responsibilities- Create a welcoming and attentive atmosphere, engaging with guests, and addressing their needs. Anticipate when guests require additional service. Greet and interact with guests in a friendly, attentive, and professional manner.
- Provide recommendations on beverage selections and answer any questions about the menu.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns gracefully, seeking solutions to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Escort guests to their assigned tables and preset menus.
- Communicate with other staff members to accommodate guest preference.
- Efficiently manage table turnover to maximize restaurant seating.
- Answer phone calls and respond to reservation inquiries. Record reservations in Open Table ensuring reservations are properly spaced and managed to accommodate the restaurant capacity.
- Menus can be extensive and may change frequently. Hosts must be well‑versed in the menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods and any specials.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations for all F&B outlets.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth service.
- Collaborate with other staff to maintain a well‑organized and efficient operation.
- Assist in training new staff, if required.
- Always maintain a clean and organized work area, including stocking and replenishing supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous serving experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant is required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and basic math skills for handling payments.
- Food, alcohol, and safety certifications under FL requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with a wide range of people.
- Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.

- Capable of performing the role in a busy work environment.
- Proficient in reading safety procedures and operating guidelines.
- Able to safely lift, pull and push up to 25 pounds.
- Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach.
