Mia's Orlando Host

Overview

As a host, your responsibility includes a warm greeting, escorting guests to their tables, or making them feel comfortable while they wait for a table. Host/Hostess must be motivated, enthusiastic and highly personable. Hosts are outgoing and able to promote a fun atmosphere. Hosts market the restaurant to new and potential guests by setting the stage for an exceptional dining experience.

• Provide a warm greeting to guests and accompany them to their tables.
• Make guests feel comfortable while they wait for a table.
• Maintain a motivated, enthusiastic, and personable demeanor.
• Create a fun atmosphere and promote a positive dining experience.
• Market the restaurant to new and potential guests by setting the stage for an exceptional dining experience.

• High school diploma or GED are preferred, but not required.
• Previous experience as a host is preferred, but not required.
• Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.
• Ability to work well under pressure and be self-motivated.
• Good organizational, time management and sales skills.
• Good communication skills—both written and verbal.
• Dependable, reliable and driven with minimal supervision.
• High level of awareness, attention to detail and follow-through.
• Effective and efficient at multi-tasking in pressure situations.

• Sitting, handling, eye-hand coordination, stooping, kneeling, and walking/standing for multiple hours in succession.
• May be required to lift, carry, pull, or push up to approximately 21-50 lbs.
• Ability to withstand changes in temperature, occasional smoke, steam and heat.
• Work in a confined area for multiple hours in succession.
• Reach with hands and arms; talk and hear effectively in a noisy environment.
• Vision requirements: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Adequate sensory abilities to observe and detect emergencies, and to discern product taste, texture, temperature, presentation and preparation.
• Basic arithmetic for tasks such as add, subtract, multiply and divide.
