Description

J-PAL North America—in collaboration with a network of academic researchers and climate sector leaders is convening a second cohort of the Climate Action Learning Lab to leverage data and evaluation to build the evidence base and scale solutions that work in adaptation and mitigation programming. The Learning Lab provides customized training, strategy sessions, peer learning engagements, and opportunities to build partnerships with academic researchers who have expertise in rigorous evaluation and climate evidence.

Time Commitment

~1–2 hours per week for 12 weeks

Who Should Attend
  • We are seeking leaders from state and local government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and industries (such as utility providers and tech companies) in the US who are committed to evaluating and advancing effective climate solutions.
Key Benefits

As a Learning Lab participant, you will:

  • Build skills and knowledge in evidence generation and use
  • Review and apply research insights to your own contexts and programs
  • Identify priority research questions to guide your evidence-building and decision making practices

Select Learning Lab participants will also have the opportunity to work with researchers in the J-PAL network to design a randomized evaluation to test the effectiveness of a prioritized decarbonization or adaptation policy or program.

Join J-PAL North America, researchers in the J-PAL network, and climate leaders from Orlando, Florida, for a conversation on the role and promise of rigorous evaluation in informing effective, equitable climate solutions. The webinar will feature a panel discussion with participants from the inaugural J-PAL North America Climate Action Learning Lab and their research partners, highlighting a study evaluating electric vehicle subsidies for low-income households in Orlando.

We will also share insights from a forthcoming Climate Action Literature Review and provide an overview of the Climate Action Learning Lab.
