Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to help individuals live more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a 14‑acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds.
OverviewOf Position – Psych Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse to join our healthcare team at University Behavioral Center in Orlando, Florida. Candidates should hold an active and clear license in the state of Florida, and previous experience in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program is highly preferred.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatment.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including crisis intervention and supportive counseling.
- Perform physical examinations and vital signs monitoring as required.
- Engage in patient education regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in psychiatric nursing.
Day/Night shift positions available.
Sign‑On Bonus$3,000 with commitment.

Qualifications- Current license to practice nursing in the state of Florida (or eligibility to receive or renew).
- Current CPR or BLS certification.
- Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients aged 5–65+.
12‑hour shifts; day or night shift available; rotating weekends.
Skills- Proficiency in medical terminology for documentation.
- Experience with behavioral health patients.
- Knowledge of patient care principles for adult psychiatric patients.
- Familiarity with older adult care practices.
- Experience working with children in a psychiatric setting.
- Competence in taking vital signs accurately.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills.
