Job Description:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, psychosocial, environmental, and developmental health status.
* Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely, monitor patient responses, and document all related activities accurately.
* Document patient assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes in medical records to ensure continuity of care.
* Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and preventive care.
* Collaborate with healthcare providers, specialists, and support staff to ensure cohesive and comprehensive care delivery.
* Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations to stabilize and provide necessary care to patients.
* Monitor patient status continuously, noting any significant changes or concerns, and report findings to the healthcare team.
* Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary data and materials are prepared.
* Promote a safe environment by identifying and addressing potential safety hazards for patients, visitors, and staff.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives, monitor patient outcomes, and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.
* Supervise and delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel based on their competence and scope of practice, ensuring safe and efficient care delivery.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements.
* The LPN will display proficient clinical skills and critical thinking skills with strong communication skills.
* Basic computer skills and experience with an electronic health record.
* Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation proficiency as required by unit specialty.
* Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practices.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and others of diverse backgrounds.
* Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast pace, high patient volume environment.
* Mental and emotional stability, demonstrating a courteous and calm approach to all contacts with patients, visitors, and health care team members.
* Mature judgment and the ability to handle confidential information within applicable regulations.
* Personal qualities such as kindness, compassion, understanding, integrity, respect, sense of humor, discretion, and confidentiality.
* Critical thinking/problem-solving skills.
* Teamwork, tact, and conflict resolution.
