Join Our Team as a Multisystem PCU RN. Are you passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment? As a Multisystem Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in administrating care to patients in an acute care setting, including individuals recovering from injuries, illnesses, medical conditions, or post‑intervention procedures who require close monitoring and active treatment.
In this role, you’ll provide comprehensive assessments and implement evidence‑based care plans, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes, utilize advanced clinical skills across multiple systems, and deliver compassionate care while supporting patients and their families through critical transitions.
Responsibilities- Administers bedside patient care in an inpatient/observation setting under the supervision of a preceptor, leader, and/or charge nurse.
- Assesses patients’ needs and develops or revises individualized plans of care based on their needs and responses; evaluates patients’ progress toward expected outcomes.
- Builds respectful relationships with all team members and customers; respects diversity.
- Advocates for patients and their families.
- Provides age‑appropriate care for patients on the assigned unit/department.
- Serves as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician.
- Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and the interdisciplinary team to plan and manage the unit/department.
- Acts as a role model for staff and supports hospital and nursing department goals and strategies.
- Applies knowledge of growth and development across the life span to assess patient needs.
- Coordinates patient care for a defined group and delegates tasks appropriately.
- Documents patient care consistently, meeting all required and regulatory standards (assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, safety).
- Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and unit equipment.
- Prioritizes patient care in alignment with Evidence‑Based Practice Standards of Care.
- Practices effective problem identification and resolution.
- Communicates relevant information regarding patient condition or unit concerns to other healthcare team members.
- Provides a compassionate and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Maintains awareness of legal issues and patient rights.
- Collaborates with the education department and nursing leadership for transition and support of new team members or students.
- Maintains regular, punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and local standards.
- Ensures compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Education/Training
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the unit/department.
- Licensure/Certification
- Maintains current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
- Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
- ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC required for certain areas; NRP required for NICU.
- Experience
- 1 year experience required.
