Schedule:

Full-time, Three (3) 12-hour shifts

Shift: Days, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm (with weekend rotation)

Sign-On and Relocation
  • Up to $15,000 Sign on Bonus and $5,000 Relocation available for eligible candidates (see terms below)

Pediatric Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Unit Description
  • The Advent Health Orlando for Children Pediatric Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is a 12-bed specialized care unit designed to provide an intermediate level of care for pediatric patients.
  • Located on the 3rd floor, the Pediatric PCU supports a wide range of pediatric patients with complex and evolving care needs. The unit will also accommodate occasional pediatric medical-surgical overflow patients as capacity allows.
  • The Pediatric PCU cares for chronic pediatric patients, post-operative patients requiring cardiac monitoring, and patients who need more frequent respiratory interventions. Additionally, the unit serves as a key transition area for patients stepping down from the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) to medical-surgical care, ensuring continuity of care and safety during recovery.
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios are maintained at 3:1, with the flexibility to adjust to 2:1 based on individual patient acuity and care requirements, supporting high-quality, family-centered care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • The Pediatric PCU at Advent Health for Children is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in a healing environment, supporting both patients and families through complex and transitional phases of pediatric illness and recovery.
The Role You’ll Contribute
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
  • Terms:

    24 month Employment Contract Required for Sign-On and Relocation
Sign-On Eligibility
  • Applicable experience required.
  • Internal Candidates and Rehires within 12 months are not eligible.
Relocation Eligibility
  • Must live 50 miles outside of campus address.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills
  • EKG (based on patient; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements)
