Job Description
Schedule: Full-time, Three (3) 12-hour shifts
Shift: Days, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am (with weekend rotation)
Location: 601 E Rollins St, Orlando, FL 32803
Sign-on Up to $20,000 Sign on Bonus and $5,000 Relocation available for eligible candidates (see terms below)
Weekend Differential $4.55/hr
Night Differential $5.05/hr
Unit Description- Pediatric Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Advent Health Orlando for Children PCU is a 12-bed unit designed to provide an intermediate level of care for pediatric patients.
- Located on the 3rd floor, the Pediatric PCU supports a wide range of pediatric patients with complex and evolving care needs. It may accommodate occasional pediatric medical-surgical overflow patients as capacity allows.
- The PCU cares for chronic pediatric patients, post-operative patients requiring cardiac monitoring, and patients needing more frequent respiratory interventions. It also serves as a transition area for patients stepping down from the PICU to medical-surgical care, ensuring continuity of care and safety during recovery.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are maintained at 3:1, with flexibility to adjust to 2:1 based on patient acuity and care requirements.
- The PCU is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in a healing environment, supporting patients and families through complex and transitional phases of pediatric illness and recovery.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
- Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
- Terms:
24 month Employment Contract Required for Sign-On and Relocation - Sign-on Eligibility:
Applicable experience required. - Internal Candidates and Rehires within 12 months are not eligible.

Must live 50 miles outside of campus address.
