The PA or APRN under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

• Performs physical examinations of patients; evaluates and treats acute and chronic urologic conditions within the hospital setting and practice
• Procedures to include catheter replacement/removal, injections, ultrasounds, circumcisions
• Surgery first assist
• Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X‑ray, ultrasound, etc.
• Monitors the patient's course of treatment and makes appropriate referrals to physicians or specialists as needed
• Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support staff
• Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times and maintains personal and professional growth
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public
• Communicates effectively
• Manages patients and provides surgical first assist for pediatric general surgery patients
• Collaborates with supervising physician, pediatric surgery team and staff to provide consistent patient care in inpatient hospital and outpatient clinic settings
• Performs and documents patient histories and physical exams
• Participates in daily inpatient rounds
• Evaluates consultations in the emergency department and outpatient office
• With appropriate training and supervision, performs bedside procedures such as newborn circumcision, excision of extra digits, drainage of abscess, local wound care, ostomy and gastrostomy tube care

• Effective communication and relationship building with employees, patients, and the public
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including call rotation, nights, and weekends for the general surgery team
• Ability to excel in a clinic with highly acute patients
• Confidence to practice independently within scope of practice

• Master's degree in Nursing (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA‑C) Studies
• 2–5 years of experience as a PA‑C or APRN;
  Urology (preferred) and Pediatric Surgery

• Current, valid Florida PA or APRN license
• Certification by NCCPA, ANCC or another nationally recognized certification organization
• BLS & ACLS certification
• Current, valid DEA license
