Responsibilities
- Lead shift operations in the orthopedic/surgical PCU to ensure high‑quality care, excellent patient flow, and superior customer experience.
- Plan and staff shift assignments based on patient acuity and skills to meet patient needs.
- Coordinate patient flow with care coordinators, discharge planners, and administrative supervisors to achieve expected outcomes.
- Monitor patient status, especially seriously ill patients, and provide direct patient care as needed.
- Support clinical collaboration, focus on patient length of stay, and lead safety huddles.
- Communicate and promote change, problem‑solving, and equipment needs to maintain a regulatory‑ready environment.
- Assist with retention strategies and sustain all leader‑driven initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current RN license in Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; certification in area of expertise preferred.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) may be required.
- Minimum one year of RN experience in an acute‑care setting.
