- Successful completion of the employment screening process to include, but not limited to, a national background investigation and drug test.
- Experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a 120‑bed skilled long‑term care nursing facility.
- One (1) year of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- High School Diploma or GED.
The incumbent for the Senior Certified Nursing Assistant (SCNA) position is responsible to provide direct nursing care to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Incumbent will assist with all aspects of resident care as assigned by the shift supervisor, including activities of daily living, ambulation, and mobility in facility.
- Respond promptly and courteously when answering call lights.
- Observe, identify, and report resident concerns or needs to the shift supervisor.
- Complete assignments timely, completely, accurately and in a cooperative manner.
- Follow established performance standards and perform duties according to nursing service and FDVA policies and procedures.
- Provide the necessary assistance when giving residents the following activities of daily living nursing care: oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming, hair and nail care, shaving, toileting, eating and drinking, and mobility.
- Assist as needed with related functions to, for, and with residents to include activities such as escorting to meals, assisting with laundry, and assisting with participation in activities.
- Perform restorative measures such as obtaining and recording vital signs/weights, and assistance with self‑administration of medications.
- Document services provided within facility software/databases.
- Consistently work cooperatively and respectfully with residents, family or resident representatives, facility staff, physicians, ARNP's, consultants and ancillary service providers.
- Always Follow Residents Rights policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
- Assist with monitoring and accountability of residents to enable medical personnel to accomplish health related tasks.
- Attend all in‑service programs, training classes, and domiciliary meetings.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for information contained in the Employee Handbook.
- Observe all facility safety, infection control and quality improvement, HIPAA policies and procedures, and internal quality improvement processes.
- Performs other related duties as required.
