Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse to join our healthcare team at University Behavioral Center, located in Orlando, Florida. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mental health practices and be committed to providing high-quality care to patients. This role involves working closely with individuals experiencing psychiatric disorders, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well‑being while promoting recovery and rehabilitation.

Night and Weekends available

Sign-on Bonus: $3,000 with commitment

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatment.
• Provide therapeutic interventions, including crisis intervention and supportive counseling.
• Perform physical examinations and vital signs monitoring as required.
• Engage in patient education regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in psychiatric nursing.

• Current license to practice nursing in the State of Florida (or eligible to receive or renew).
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients aged 5‑65 yrs+.

12‑hour shifts; day or night shift available; rotating weekends

• Proficiency in medical terminology for medical documentation is preferred.
• Experience with behavioral health patient is preferred.
• Knowledge of patient care principles for adult psychiatric patients is beneficial.
• Familiarity with older adult care practices is advantageous.
• Experience working with children in a psychiatric setting is highly desirable.
• Competence in taking vital signs accurately.
