Position Overview
An Assembler is responsible for production-assembly. The work is highly repetitive and involves following prescribed routines and methods of assembly. The candidate must be able to follow demonstrated steps.
Essential Functions- Operators must be mechanically inclined with basic reading, writing, and mathematics skills.
- Operators must work in a team environment, follow directions, read work instructions, and prepare container tickets, including adding and subtracting part counts.
- Organizational skills are required to multitask. Operators use hand tools, scales, and other process‑related equipment such as fixtures, assembly presses, and drill presses.
- Some hand tools require operators to be ambidextrous.
- Operators must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
- Moderate lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance available when necessary.
- Fine hand manipulation, pinching, pulling, and grasping of small to large parts is required.
- Operators must have full range of motion in hands, arms, legs, neck, and back to perform job duties.
- The job requires the use of chemicals.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to communicate in English; excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic reading and math skills.
- Normal to high manual dexterity skills.
- Ability to use all required hand tools, machinery, and variable gauges.
- Must be qualified and competent after a reasonable training period based on job complexity.
The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing area where personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes/boots, and hearing protection is required. The work area may be non-temperature controlled, resulting in hot temperatures during summer months. Typical hazards include ergonomic issues, burns, bruises, cuts, heavy lifting, fumes, slippery floors, machine hazards, chemicals, gases, and bodily injuries.
Protective measures such as machine guards, ergonomic stretch program, documented hazards, proper hand tools, environmental, health and safety training, and PPE are in place. Industrial lighting is provided. This work requires routine walking, standing, and bending.
Pay Grade 4: $18.00 - $21.57
The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
