Job Description

Applies Gelcoat to the hull, deck molds, and small parts according to production orders.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Be able to spray Gelcoat, check for the proper millage, read orders, and apply the corresponding color requested.
  • Be able to apply hull and deck identifying numbers in the proper place.
  • Stock Gelcoat.
  • Clean Filters and pumps at required intervals.
  • You will be taping, wrapping, and prepping molds to be gel coated.
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly.
  • Follow instructions of the Supervisor/foreman/lead.
  • Work with a team to complete daily tasks.
  • Must be able to wear a full mask respirator.
  • Be able to identify the different hulls and decks that need to be gel-coated.
  • Be able to use small hand tools, including scissors, razors, knives, etc.
  • Inspects all parts to be complete and up to quality standards.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements Tools used in this occupation include but are not limited to
  • Personal Protective Equipment
    - Safety Glasses, full-mask respirator, Tyvek protection suit.
  • Hand Tools- gelcoat gun, razor knife, and scissors.
  • Working directly with gelcoat, fiberglass, and resin.
Knowledge includes but is not limited to
  • Be able to drive a forklift.
  • Be able to use and maintain a variety of hand tools.
  • Knowledge of production processes and quality control.
Physical and Work Requirements
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature.
  • Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods.
