Job Description

Regal Boats is seeking an experienced and driven Panel & Harness Team Leader to oversee the daily operations of the panel and harness production area. This hands‑on production supervisor will lead technicians, ensure electrical assemblies meet quality and safety standards, and deliver production targets that support on‑time boat builds. The role coordinates labor, troubleshoots electrical build challenges, trains team members, and partners with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to support Regal’s electrical systems across all boat models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead, coach, and develop a team of panel & harness technicians and leads (approximately 15‑30 team members).
    • Assign daily work based on production schedules, boat models, and labor availability.
    • Conduct daily start‑up meetings to communicate priorities, safety topics, quality concerns, and production goals.
    • Train and onboard new team members on harness builds, panel assembly, safety practices, and Regal quality standards.
    • Conduct performance conversations, provide coaching, and support disciplinary actions in alignment with company policy.
  • Production & Technical Oversight
    • Oversee the assembly of boat‑specific wiring harnesses and electrical panels according to drawings, formulas, and work instructions.
    • Ensure accurate cutting, crimping, labeling, and connector configurations.
    • Ensure proper identification and routing of wire colors for lighting, pumps, AC/DC systems, and digital switching.
    • Supervise in‑house battery cable manufacturing to predefined specifications and formulas.
    • Troubleshoot electrical and harness‑related issues that affect production flow or quality.
    • Coordinate with Engineering and Quality to resolve design questions, defects, or process improvements.
    • Manage harness quality testing processes and work with Industrial Engineering to resolve test software or hardware issues.
  • Quality, Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure all work meets Regal’s Quality Standards and electrical best practices.
    • Review defects, support corrective action requests, and implement process improvements.
    • Enforce safety standards, PPE usage, and safe work practices within the department.
    • Proactively identify safety risks and coach team members on safe electrical handling and shop practices.
  • Planning & Coordination
    • Manage labor hours and staffing to meet production rates and efficiency targets.
    • Confirm timecards and attendance using Regal’s timekeeping system.
    • Partner with Scheduling, Warehousing, and other production departments to ensure material and harness readiness.
    • Adjust resources throughout the day in response to attendance, production changes, or quality issues.

Required Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in electrical harness, panel assembly, or marine/industrial electrical manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of wire color codes, harness construction, crimping standards, and battery cable manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, formulas, and work instructions.
  • Ability to manage labor hours and meet production metrics.
  • Ability to conduct employee conversations related to expectations, performance, and accountability.
