Position Overview

Position is responsible for the maintenance, repairs, installation and improvement of the Injection department at the facility by directing, managing and developing all maintenance department employees.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Fully involved with local management team. Provides technical input, solutions and options on improving productivity/effectiveness and product quality per area of responsibility.
  • Establish priorities for the maintenance function and works closely with the Plant Manager and HR Manager to ensure effective utilization of available resources.
  • Directs and supervises the hourly maintenance crew to ensure motivation, skill and competence. Assesses skills, conducts performance reviews and recommends training for supervisors and staff.
  • Manages the movement of molds to and from the facility and acts as the key contact person for molds at the facility.
  • Responsible for tracking expenses and labor costs to ensure compliance with plant and department budgets.
  • Recommend and implement programs to identify problems, improve labor utilization, upgrade facilities and reduce costs.
  • Responsible for maintaining effective PM programs and ensures compliance with written plans, programs and procedures.
  • Seek bids on construction, alteration and installation work as required. Recommends contractors based on cost, workmanship and compliance with facility policies.
  • Responsible for development, implementation and completion of preventive maintenance programs. Ensure documented.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local safety, environmental and health requirements, building ordinances and standards, including lockout, Haz‑com, machine guarding and waste disposal.
  • Actively participates in local safety programs and ensures the maintenance team performs work in a safe manner.
  • Participates in plant audits and ensures compliance with written standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Five years of maintenance manager experience, preferably with mold inventory experience.
  • Must have good knowledge of high‑volume production process and facilities.

ADA Requirements

Physical Requirements:

Normal Vision, Distinct Hearing, Ability to sit and stand, travel within facility, and handle moderate push/pull. The position may involve lifting up to 30 lbs.

Work Environment:
Needs working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature extremes, and confined space.
