As part of Detection and Measurement, CUES is the world’s leading developer of water, wastewater, and storm water inspection equipment. With CCTV cameras, pre-built vehicles, and software for pipeline inspection and rehabilitation, we improve the safety and reliability of our water infrastructure systems.
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our electro‑mechanical equipment. Your responsibilities include meticulous assembly and disassembly of components, conducting thorough quality testing, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and executing precise repairs. Operating within a fast‑paced, customer‑service driven environment, your expertise will directly support our commitment to delivering high‑quality, reliable solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Meticulous assembly and disassembly of components.
- Conduct comprehensive quality testing.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipment.
- Execute precise repairs to electro‑mechanical systems.
- Soldering skills.
- Knowledge of digital multimeters, megaohm meters, and other measuring equipment.
- Test, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment in a fast‑paced, customer‑service environment.
- Experience building and troubleshooting wiring harnesses.
- Working knowledge of clutch and bearing systems.
- Understanding of motor internal components.
- Proficiency with basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, schematics, and test procedures.
- Maintain repair documentation and annotate procedures.
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good attendance and strong work ethic.
- Perform assigned tasks safely, effectively, and efficiently.
- Flexibility to work overtime when required.
- Work independently or as part of a team.
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience.
- Experience building and troubleshooting wiring harnesses.
- Minimum high school diploma.
- Normal work hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- Must be flexible to work overtime as required.
- Technician works in an assigned workbench or truck area in the facility.
- Periodically lift to fifty pounds and spend hours standing, sitting, and walking during a normal day.
