Position Summary
Open in Summer 2026 at 4000 Lakeland Highlands Road, Lakeland, FL. The Security Manager oversees all administrative and operational functions for the Security Department, ensuring safety and compliance across the campus.

• Manage staff, develop policies, procedures, goals, and provide administrative direction.
• Recruit, interview, screen, select and schedule employees.
• Create coaching plans to evaluate performance and ensure departmental continuity.
• Meet with staff to review performance, set goals, and correct issues as needed.
• Coordinate all departmental process improvement activities with the Process Improvement Team.
• Ensure all training, licensure, and certifications are properly documented.
• Assist in preparing and implementing the department budget.
• Work with the Sr. Director of Security and hospital administration to develop crime‑prevention strategies.
• Supervise Police Officers assigned to the Emergency Department, if applicable.
• Manage hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions.
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and federal, state, and local standards.
• Ensure compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

• Assist in attaining financial goals for areas of responsibility.
• Establish & meet Critical Success Factors for areas of responsibility.
• Stay informed of evolving technology related to crime prevention, access control, and CCTV.
• Promote Orlando Health culture, values, and commitment to excellence.
• Maximize customer satisfaction.
• Direct departmental activities in the absence of the Sr. Director of Security.
• Exhibit highest degree of trust and integrity in all functions.
• Develop and oversee departmental and organizational security training.
• Oversee departmental website to ensure current content.
• Conduct investigations as needed.
• Perform all other duties assigned.

• Must meet one of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, public safety, homeland security, or related field.
  • Associate degree and five (5) years of experience in a security related field, including supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a security related field, including supervisory experience.

Valid Florida driver’s license with no more than six (6) points, at least 21 years of age, and must be insurable under Orlando Health insurance carrier requirements. Must obtain applicable IAHSS certifications.

• Five (5) years of law enforcement, U.S. military service, or security experience, including three (3) years of supervisory experience, or
  • Eight (8) years of experience in a security related field, including supervisory experience.
