Job Title: Vice President of Membership and Operations

Reports to: President/CEO

Job Summary:

The Vice President of Membership and Operations will play a critical leadership role within CFHLA, overseeing day-to-day internal operations of several departments and team members, ensuring the efficiency of organizational systems, and driving key strategic initiatives. This executive-level position also holds primary responsibility for membership engagement, recruitment, retention, and satisfaction - supporting the Association’s mission to represent the hospitality industry across Central Florida.

The Vice President of Membership and Operations

Responsibilities include:

Operational Leadership
  • Oversee CFHLA’s daily operations for several departments and team members - including signature and industry events, membership, governmental/political affairs, communications/marketing, and strategic initiatives and partnerships - ensuring effective workflow across departments.
  • Collaborate with the President and CEO on the strategic planning and implementation of organizational goals.
  • Contribute to budget planning and financial reporting in coordination with the Senior Director of Finance and the President and CEO.
  • Manage and optimize internal systems and processes to support operational excellence.
  • Supervise a team by providing leadership, growth and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Membership Services
  • Develop and lead comprehensive strategies for membership recruitment and retention across all membership categories (including lodging and allied).
  • Cultivate strong relationships with current and prospective members, ensuring high levels of engagement and member satisfaction.
  • Lead initiatives that deliver value to members, including orientation, networking events and educational programs. This also includes the six regional General Manager Meetings and the Allied Relations Council.
  • Maintain the membership database and analyze membership data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for member inquiries and sponsor ships, resolving concerns promptly and professionally.
Event Support and Community Engagement
  • Support the events team to ensure successful execution of all CFHLA events, including signature events, networking events, fundraising events and signature programs.
  • Support community outreach efforts and philanthropic initiatives in partnership with the CFHLA Foundation.
  • Represent CFHLA at external events, conferences, and partner meetings to build relationships and promote the organization.
Governmental Affairs and Advocacy
  • Monitor the priorities of the hospitality and tourism industry, at the local, state, and national levels.
  • Assist the organization in all of CFHLA’s political, campaign and grassroots advocacy efforts, which supports and advances CFHLA’s mission, as well as the CFHLA PAC/PC.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with our State and locally elected officials, government agencies, industry partners and community leaders.
Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow revenue streams through enhanced member engagement and strategic partnerships.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to operations and membership.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in a trade association, chamber of commerce, and/or not-for-profit organization.
