Facilities Technician

Our client, a leader in facility management and critical infrastructure support, is seeking an Operating Engineer 2 to join their team. As an Operating Engineer 2, you will be part of the maintenance department supporting a high-visibility, client-facing environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, independence, excellent communication skills, and a customer service-oriented mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Orlando, FL

Pay Range: $32-33/hour

Shift: Evenings

What's the Job?

• Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems to ensure optimal operation and safety.
• Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, and contracted maintenance activities.
• Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, calibration, and part replacements to keep HVAC systems and related equipment functioning efficiently.
• Record system readings, make necessary adjustments, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Monitor the quality and cost of work performed by external contractors, ensuring high standards of safety and quality are maintained.

What's Needed?

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2-4 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems effectively.
• Proficiency with computer applications such as Word and Excel.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a high-visibility environment.
