Position Overview

We seek to hire Rail Technicians to work on the heavy repair & overhaul team. Working on heavy repairs on large components to overhauling train equipment ranging from bogies, engines to toilets. Hours are 1st shift – 7am to 3:30pm (including weekdays, weekends and holidays). Your workplace will be in Orlando, FL. Flexibility to occasionally work at the West Palm Beach, FL maintenance facility is encouraged.

What

your day‑to‑day will look like
  • Perform heavy repairs on Charger locomotives and Venture coaches. This could include repairs on the QSK
    95 engine, body work damaged after strikes such as windshields and repairs to under‑frame equipment, bogies and under‑frame equipment.

  • Perform large component removal for overhaul of train, such as Bogies, Cooling towers, compressors etc.

  • Perform off trainsets component overhaul following the Component overhaul instructions.

  • Follow all maintenance instructions (wherever available) to enforce and maintain compliance and high‑quality standards.

  • Responsible for keeping workstation and work areas clean and free of debris at all times.

  • Other functions as needed, including forklift operations, daily cleaning operations, and others as needed.

  • Develop a working relationship with the Customer as an employee and representative of Siemens Mobility.

  • Verify that all defects, tasks, and incidents have been reported and detailed in (CMMS) for compliance, issue tracking, and closure.

  • Maintain compliance to all Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) related safety rules, laws, and regulations.

  • Collaborate with the leadership as needed on all site issues, systems, and related facility operations.

To thrive in this role, you have
  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience with a railroad or other technical field.

  • Previous heavy repair / overhaul experience.

  • Setting you apart from others would be a technical degree with detailed knowledge of the technical aspects of rolling stock/depot and experience with FRA. Experience with engines, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems as well as auto body repair and welding, including certifications would be a huge plus.

The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
