As a Part-Time Night Custodian, you will ensure existing facilities are kept clean, safe and well maintained.
- Clean assigned areas: interior (hallways, restrooms, offices, classrooms, multi-purpose room) and exterior (perimeter of school building, parking lot, playground, windows) as assigned by supervisor
- Empty trash from all receptacles
- Dust FF&E, window sills, air vents and other areas as assigned
- Clean and sterilize restroom facilities
- Clean up bodily messes in accordance with training (vomit, feces, urine, blood)
- Remove waste in cafeteria for breakfast and lunch
- Assist with cleaning cafeteria tables and keeping cafeteria floors clean
- Sterilize high-use areas to reduce the spread of bacteria
- Assist Head Custodian with cleaning projects or tasks
- Assist with building preventative maintenance processes and monitoring systems for facility components’ extended life
- Travel may be required to nearby schools or warehouse/storage
- Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency
- Review current developments and literature related to janitorial responsibilities
- Adhere to OSHA and safety procedures
- Perform other duties as delegated by Supervisor
- Follow federal and state laws, as well as company policies
- Director of Projects & Facilities will assess effectiveness annually in coordination with school administration, maintenance coordinator and head custodian
- Carry a handheld radio while on school property if assigned
- Stay on school property from the start to the end of the workday, including lunch
- Lunch period may be adjusted to meet school needs; report and assist with emergencies as needed
- No custodian is allowed to leave campus to run personal or school errands without permission from Facilities Supervisor
- Education — minimum high school graduate with continuing education in construction or facilities-related fields
- Experience — at least 1 year of janitorial trade experience
- Special Qualifications — possess the above knowledge, skills, and abilities
- May perform other duties as assigned
