Whatthis job involves:
The Chiller Technician will perform chiller annual preventive maintenance work within a given geographic territory. This will include hands‑on work to complete the necessary work within Jones Lang LaSalle standards and guidelines. Quality control audits and inspections will be conducted throughout the territory and production of deficiency reports provided to supervisors. Technical assistance, support in advanced troubleshooting, and hands‑on repair guidance will be required in support of local engineering teams within a territory.
Yourday‑to‑day tasks will include:
- Perform annual and semi‑annual preventive maintenance and repair service work on water cooled and air‑cooled chiller systems including cooling towers and pumps.
- Conduct energy audits to identify where system and operational changes can be made to decrease the property’s energy consumption.
- Provide technical assistance and support to various work teams within a geographic region in order to increase the skills and capabilities of team members.
- Conduct building evaluations and make recommendations so operational improvements can be incorporated.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial HVAC service and repairs with a focus on hands‑on chiller repair & maintenance.
- Successful completion of vocation degree program, apprenticeship, and/or comparable work experience.
- Possess Universal EPA Certification.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various chiller systems.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Possess hands‑on skills and knowledge to complete required repairs and maintenance on a variety of chiller manufacturers, cooling towers, pumps, motors using industry standard tools and in accordance with all codes, laws, and regulations.
- Possess knowledge of codes, laws, and regulations affecting commercial real estate operations with the ability to articulate any deficiencies and make recommendations to remedy such deficiencies.
- Ability to effectively use computers and computer programs (including use of Microsoft Office Suite), skill in use of the internet to navigate to and use web based applications, and ability to use handheld electronic devices.
