Job Summary
Lead Controls Specialist will be responsible for the integration of controls or control systems into existing or new compressed air system customers. The role requires collaboration with the ACF Sales and Service teams on control projects from design to implementation, and direct work with the customer or end user on installation and startup of quoted controls or control systems.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, and repair of compressed air system controls and control systems.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during normal working hours and after-hours, weekends, and holidays as directed.
• Perform scheduled repairs of compressed air system controls and control systems.
• Install and commission system controls.
• Use controllers for both IR product line and competitive lines.
• Read and interpret operational manuals, electrical schematics, compressed air equipment literature, and work orders to perform required maintenance and/or repairs.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations, including totaling work orders and compressed air formulas.
• Perform system controls evaluations, including in-field analysis and recommendations.
• Provide application assistance to the Sales team during the sales process.
• Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report them and any other unusual situations to the Sales Manager and/or Service Manager in a timely manner.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly job site work areas.
• Drive to and from job sites throughout the day; overnight travel by land and/or air may be required.

Additional Job Functions

• May perform work requiring use of winch, pulley, hoist, and/or A Frames.
• Computer skilled in downloading or uploading programs into controllers.
• Versed in training on controllers, PM, and tear down.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent (GED).
• 5 to 7 years of related work experience or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Motor Vehicle Record must be in good standing and comply with Company policy.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Working knowledge of compressed air systems and control systems, including mechanical operation, associated hazards, and proper equipment usage.
• Ability to interpret schematics and operational manuals for practical application on repair and maintenance tasks.
• Working knowledge of fundamental mathematical operations.
• Ability to take preventative safety measures to avoid electrical shock, limit exposure to loud noises, and prevent injury by using personal protective equipment, including NFPA 70E protective equipment when applicable.
• Skilled use of mechanical tools used to repair and maintain compressed air systems and their components.
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments such as outdoor weather conditions, wet, humid, and extreme heat conditions.
• Position requires extended periods of standing, extended periods of sitting while driving, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and repetitive hand use.
• Ability to handle heavy work — exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and up to 10 lbs. constantly to move objects.
• Requires ability to speak clearly, loudly, or quickly to convey detailed or important instructions accurately.
• Ability to hear by receiving detailed verbal information or by making distinctions in sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
• Visual sharpness to operate motor vehicles and heavy equipment safely with or without correction.
