Position Summary:
To maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as directed by your supervisor, to assure a successful maintenance program is maintained at all times.
Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Responsibilities- Ensures that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for the respective shift or area.
- Reports all accidents/incidents to the supervisor, regardless of severity, on the shift in which they occur.
- Coordinates daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
- Attends departmental and staff meetings as directed or called.
- Performs tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
- Follows established fire safety policies and procedures and all safety precautions when performing maintenance services.
- Maintains the general plant and facility in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
- Keeps work areas free of hazardous conditions and ensures proper storage of equipment, tools, and supplies before breaks or end of day.
- Reports unsafe/hazardous conditions and equipment defects to the supervisor immediately.
- Maintains compliance with safety and sanitation procedures and uses appropriate PPE when handling infectious materials.
- Disposes of refuse daily in accordance with sanitation procedures.
- Keeps supervisor informed of supply needs and ensures facility and equipment are maintained for resident comfort and convenience.
- Reports equipment malfunctions or breakdowns promptly.
- Assists others in lifting heavy equipment and supplies as directed.
- Performs routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, and related tasks as necessary or directed.
- Performs routine maintenance and repair on facility systems (plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical) as directed, following established procedures.
- Serves heating and cooling units/systems per manufacturer specifications and established policies.
- Performs unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies and applicable laws and standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Education/Training
:
High school level reading, verbal and written communication, mathematical, and reasoning skills. - Licensure/Certification
:
Valid Florida driver’s license and must be insurable under the Orlando Health insurance carrier’s requirements and standards. - Experience
:
Two (2) years of general facility maintenance experience.
