Job Overview

LAW ENFORCEMENT LIEUTENANT – State Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, Orlando District Office. Position Number: . Hiring Salary: $2,307.69–$2,884.62 Biweekly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a squad of law enforcement agents on regulatory investigations and enforcement activities.
  • Ensure squad agents complete mandatory SYNAR surveys for tobacco and alcohol, conduct citations, arrests, and inspections to meet division goals.
  • Perform special duties and projects assigned by the Law Enforcement Captain, Major, and Division leadership.
  • Demonstrate excellent supervisory, managerial, and administrative skills.
  • Maintain effective written and verbal communication with employees, licensees, state, unions, and local law enforcement organizations.
  • Administer and enforce policies, procedures, and regulations related to the core mission of the bureau and division.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system, arrest procedures, and supervisory principles.
  • Ability to work in dangerous and stressful situations and effectively interview suspects, complainants, and witnesses.
  • Skilled in using restraining devices and firearms.
  • Experience with law enforcement principles and techniques.
  • 90+ days of full‑time law enforcement experience.
  • Valid State of Florida driver’s license.
  • Must reside within 70 miles of the Orlando District Office.
  • Must be available to travel often with little to no advance notice.
Preferred
  • Two or more years of regulatory experience OR two or more years of working in the alcohol and/or tobacco industries.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish or Creole.
