About Us

Ryan

C. Phillips, P.A. is seeking a motivated Construction Litigation Associate with 2 - 4 years of experience to join the team as a critical contributor to the success of our construction litigation practice.

The firm represents architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, owners and developers, handling all areas of construction litigation, including design professional liability claims, construction defect claims, insurance defense, delay claims, collections, lien and bond law matters, construction industry licensing board matters, and contract negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

Attorney responsibilities will include all aspects of construction litigation, including drafting and filing motions, legal research, document review and management, depositions, court hearings and trials, arbitrations, and appellate matters, including:

  • Handle construction litigation matters from inception through trial, including pleadings, motions, discovery, hearings, and trial preparation.
  • Draft and review contracts, subcontracts, and other construction-related documents.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare construction law memoranda.
  • Work directly with clients, contractors, architects and engineers, and expert witnesses to manage cases effectively.
  • Assist in settlement negotiations, mediations, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies and manage case workflow.

This is a full-time on-site role in Orlando, FL.

Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active Florida Bar membership in good standing
  • 2–5 years of litigation experience, preferably including construction, commercial, or real estate litigation
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, lien law, and construction defect claims preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with clients and team members
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, legal research tools, and case management software
  • Proficiency in drafting and filing motions and conducting related legal research
  • Experience with depositions and managing related documentation
  • Familiarity with court procedures and attending court hearings
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
