Position: Director, Sourcing & Procurement (IT & Digital)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director, IT Sourcing is a senior strategic sourcing leader and formal team lead for Digital & Technology Sourcing, responsible for enterprise-level commercial strategy, complex negotiations, and value realization across the D&T spend portfolio. This role has direct leadership accountability for the IT Sourcing team, including work prioritization, coaching, escalation, and performance enablement. The Director is accountable for leading high-value, high-complexity sourcing initiatives, shaping category and negotiation strategies, and delivering economically beneficial commercial outcomes that directly support UDX business growth.

Operating as the primary deal architect and negotiation authority, the Director leverages data-driven analytics, advanced financial modeling, and agent-assisted sourcing tools to improve sourcing throughput, mitigate renewal and execution risk, and unlock incremental enterprise savings. This role intentionally optimizes vendor management in favor of leadership, strategy, and deal execution. This role is accountable for delivering measurable annual savings, cost avoidance, and value realization aligned to enterprise financial targets, while ensuring the sourcing team operates with clarity, scalability, and institutional continuity.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation Execution:
    Lead sourcing initiatives including RFPs, competitive negotiations, and renewals across SaaS, Cloud, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Professional Services categories. Execute negotiation strategies aligned to category playbooks and Director guidance for engagements, including regional and multi-vendor agreements.
  • Commercial & Financial Analysis:
    Analyze enterprise spend data to identify savings opportunities, pricing anomalies, and leverage points. Develop cost models, utilization forecasts, scenario analyses, and negotiation support materials to validate savings, cost avoidance, and value realization.
  • Stakeholder Partnership & Deal Execution:
    Serve as a trusted sourcing advisor to Technology, Digital, and Business stakeholders. Translate technical and business requirements into commercially executable sourcing strategies and coordinate with Legal and Finance to ensure timely, compliant contract execution.
  • Process Discipline, Tools & Continuous Improvement:
    Utilize sourcing tools, analytics platforms, and contract workflows to improve sourcing throughput, renewal visibility, and execution quality. Contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing templates, negotiation frameworks, and operating processes.
  • Governance & Risk Awareness:
    Ensure sourcing activities adhere to procurement policies, financial controls, and basic supplier risk considerations while maintaining focus on speed, value, and commercial outcomes.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or related field)
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
EXPERIENCE:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic IT sourcing or procurement.
  • Demonstrated leadership of large, complex, enterprise‑level negotiations
  • Proven track record delivering material, measurable savings and value creation
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Expert‑level negotiation and deal structuring skills
  • Advanced financial modeling, TCO analysis, and scenario planning
  • Deep category knowledge across SaaS, Cloud (IaaS/PaaS), Enterprise Applications, Cybersecurity, and Professional Services
  • Executive‑level communication and influence
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and high‑growth environments
