Phoenix Defense seeks a recently retired Marine Corps Gunner (CWO-5) or equivalent senior infantry weapons expert to lead our expansion into USMC markets, live fire Training-as-a-Service, and target systems. This role is critical to executing our CPM Convergence Strategy exploiting Army/USMC target system consolidation aligned with the USMC Marksmanship Campaign Plan (FY25-FY29). The ideal candidate brings unmatched credibility in marksmanship training, direct relationships with USMC TECOM and Weapons Training Battalion, and deep understanding of range operations requirements.
This position enables Force-on-Force training services through OPFOR expertise, scenario development, and after‑action review delivery.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead CPM Convergence Strategy execution - exploit Phoenix incumbent position to capture Army/USMC target system consolidation opportunities
- Serve as primary customer engagement lead with USMC Marksmanship Campaign Plan (FY25-FY29) stakeholders
- Define Live Fire TaaS‑LOMAH product requirements based on operational experience and customer needs
- Develop competitive positioning strategy against Theissen Training Systems on FASIT‑compliant equipment
- Lead Force‑on‑Force TaaS development including OPFOR services, scenario development, and AAR delivery model
- Provide operational leadership for Mobile Training Team (MTT) deployments leveraging combat experience
- Enable lateral moves of Army training successes to USMC market through direct customer access
- Develop Infantry Target market capture strategy aligned with Army range modernization requirements
- Translate USMC operational needs into Phoenix capability requirements and solution designs
- Support WTRS recompete with demonstrated cross‑service training delivery expertise
- Manage TaaS Field Representatives and MTT Team Leaders during training delivery operations
- Retired USMC Gunner (CWO-5) or equivalent senior infantry weapons expert (CWO-4 minimum)
- 20+ years of Marine Corps service with deep expertise in marksmanship training and qualification
- Direct experience with USMC range operations, live fire training, and weapons qualification programs
- Established relationships with USMC TECOM, Weapons Training Battalion, and range management organizations
- Understanding of marksmanship training systems including targets, scoring, and range infrastructure
- Combat deployment experience with practical understanding of realistic training requirements
- Strong communication skills for customer engagement and proposal orals
- Active Secret clearance
- Experience with Infantry Immersion Trainer (IIT) or similar Force‑on‑Force training facilities
- Background in OPFOR operations, combined arms exercises, or large‑scale training events
- Familiarity with Army CPM (Combat Marksmanship Program) or similar training systems
- Understanding of LOMAH electronic scoring, FASIT standards, or target system technology
- Business development or capture management experience in defense contracting
