SALARY RANGE
: $45,344/yr – $69,659/yr. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, and/or experience.

Performs human resources related functions and services in Recruiting to support agency needs.

Minimum Qualifications And Abilities
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
  • U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card.
  • Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be individually evaluated.
  • No illegal drug usage within the past year. Other drug usage will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business Management, Human Resources, Public Administration or Legal Studies (or related field) AND no related experience OR Associate's degree (A.A. or A.S.) AND two (2) years of related human resources or recruiting experience OR IF NO DEGREE four (4) years of related human resources or recruiting experience.
  • Must have prior military service (Active Duty, Reserve, or National Guard) or demonstrated experience recruiting or working with military and veteran populations.
  • Must have experience serving as a veteran advocate, mentor, or liaison, including knowledge of veteran resources, benefits, and career transition support.
  • Must have familiarity with military occupational specialties (MOS/AFSC/Rate) and the ability to translate military skills to civilian or law-enforcement career pathways; experience conducting outreach at military installations, TAP programs, job fairs, or veteran-focused events.
  • Must have knowledge of veteran hiring programs and employment initiatives, with the ability to build partnerships with military transition offices, VSOs, ROTC programs, or military recruiters.
  • Must have valid Florida driver’s license. Must attend and successfully complete the agency sponsored Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations (LEVO) within six months.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and travel in and out of state.
  • Ability to recruit candidates for all agency positions, both sworn and civilian, at job fairs, community events, parades, academies, colleges, and universities. Give presentations, conduct news interviews, take photographs for advertisements, present at award ceremonies, and meet candidates one-on-one.
  • Ability to explore innovative ways to advertise current job openings, including utilizing social media platforms, signage, posters, flyers, newspapers, magazines, websites, and advertising companies.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with organizations and seek out recruitment opportunities. Examples include, but not limited to, church organizations, gyms (athletic organizations), local explorer posts, high schools, and college classes.
  • Ability to stay informed about recruiting trends, ensuring we remain competitive in our recruitment efforts.
  • Ability to provide comprehensive information about the OCSO, including details on pay, benefits, positions, and promotional opportunities.
  • Ability to screen applications for minimum requirements as stated in position’s job description.
  • Ability to coordinate interviews and schedule appointments;
    Communicate and distribute appointment or schedule notifications to applicants and supervisors. Verify necessary appointment and interview paperwork is complete.
  • Ability to assist with Recruiting events and applicants’ pre-employment testing.
  • Ability to complete and file employee and applicant paperwork. Ability to enter information into databases and/or spreadsheets. Ability to process paperwork and verify paperwork contains necessary signatures and other supporting documentation. Ability to track applicant progress and will follow-up when necessary.
  • Ability to answer questions verbally or in writing regarding Human Resources related concerns. Ability to respond to request for documents and other information. When responding to an employee, applicant or a citizen requests, exercises some independent judgment in accordance with public information laws, agency policies, and operating procedures.
