House Attendant

Overview

The House Attendant is part of the team that is empowered to provide exceptional cleaning service in all public areas, guest corridors, and other assigned areas. You will work closely with others who, like you, are fully committed to ensuring that all spaces are clean, warm, welcoming, and encourage comfort.

• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards, and correct maintenance and use of equipment.
• Assist Room Attendants with stripping vacant rooms including soiled linen, terry and trash as needed.
• Deliver miscellaneous goods, supplies to guest rooms, and deliver linen/supplies to guest floors.
• Shampoo hallways, rooms, and public areas.
• Remove dirty linen from guest floors.
• Remove trash from work areas to the loading dock/dumpster and remove trash and linen from cleaning carts.
• Clean elevators and tracks.
• Sweep and wash floors, vacuum carpet, wash walls, dust furniture and fixtures.
• Make and deliver roll-a-way beds. Move furniture, supplies, and equipment.
• Support a team of Room Attendants by ensuring guest room supplies are well stocked, trash and debris are removed from hotel guest rooms.
• Maintain general cleanliness of guest floors and rooms.
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while having an impeccable eye for detail.
• Responsible for safety, cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of corridors, housekeeping linen and storage closets.
• Take initiative to resolve guest complaints and build loyalty.
• Anticipate and respond to guest inquiries by being knowledgeable of all services/features and local attractions/activities.
• Communicate and always respond, in a friendly, helpful and courteous manner to guests, managers and fellow team members.
• Report all guest issues and complaints to management immediately.
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years previous experience in a similar housekeeping role/hotel setting.
• Must be service-oriented with excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with guests, management, and coworkers and read, write and understand the English language.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must be able to follow directions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
• Must be a team player with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle guest issues effectively.
• Comfortable using hotel communication devices (technology).
• Ability to adapt to changing situations.
• Must maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent Hotel information.
• Must have flexibility with workdays and hours to include evenings, weekends, holidays, etc.

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill necessary tasks.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
• While performing the duties of this job, the team members will experience temperature fluctuations (rain, wind, heat, humidity), and moderate to high noise levels.
