Job Description

As a Front Desk Supervisor
, you will:

  • Schedule and direct Front Office team members as needed.
  • Act as Manager of Duty in the absence of the General and Front Office Manager.
  • Greet, register and assign rooms to guests and input information into the property management system.
  • Collect and post security deposits during guest check‑in.
  • Explain room charges to guests and accept payment by cash, check or credit cards.
  • Issue room keys.
  • Check guests out via the property management system and phone system.
  • Answer all phone calls at the front desk and operator, transferring calls as needed.
  • Turn on or restrict guest phones as needed.
  • Answer inquiries concerning hotel services, guest registration, shopping, dining, entertainment, shuttle and travel directions.
  • Remain aware of room occupancy and availability.
  • Compute bills, collect payments and make change for guests.
  • Handle and count cash, and process credit card payments and credits.
  • Make and confirm reservations.
  • Post charges, including rent, phone and miscellaneous fees, to guest folios.
  • Listen and find solutions to guests’ problems.
  • Balance all cash, credit card and other postings to the daily report at end of shift.
  • Make cash deposits in the safe.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping when VIP guests arrive.
  • Train all new Front Desk personnel.
Qualifications
  • One or more years of Front Office leadership (supervisory or management) experience.
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours a day.
  • Availability for AM, PM and overnight shifts.
