The Regional Dietitian - Florida is a Clinical leadership position that has the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability to provide nutrition services that are in full compliance with all regulatory statutes, company policies and procedures, and financial performance targets. Collaborates with the regional and division operations team to support strategic planning and operational performance.
Location:
This position is open to candidates residing anywhere in the state of Florida.
Manage Clinical Resources
- In collaboration with Talent Acquisition and Human Resources, manages the recruitment, hiring, and training, of Registered Dietitian(s).
- Manages deployment of Registered Dietitian(s).
- Conducts performance evaluations for Registered Dietitian(s) in accordance with company policy.
- Identifies appropriate staffing models for Registered Dietitian Services by client/account that meet the clinical care needs in accordance with regulatory requirements and within the defined scope of practice.
- Makes determinations regarding the use of contract/agency dietitian services.
- Identifies salary ranges for Registered Dietitians that are commensurate with responsibilities, experience, and prevailing market wage rates.
- Participates in budget development and review for Registered Dietitian services.
- In collaboration with operations, tracks and manages expenses for Registered Dietitian services for performance against budget.
- Develops and implements a retention strategy for the Registered Dietitian team to minimize turnover.
- Coordinates and monitors educational training processes for the Registered Dietitian team
- Routinely audits clinical charting of RDs to assess for timeliness, accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Performs mock audits/site visits regularly to assess readiness for annual state surveys.
- Manages Operational Excellence mobilization process in support of clinical resources and programming.
Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement
- In collaboration with operations, reviews the ongoing quality audits for sanitation, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. Develop training programs based on audit results as needed.
- In collaboration with operations and clients (as appropriate) coordinates the scheduling and assignment of responsibilities for the pre-survey audit process.
- In collaboration with operations, participates in performance improvement planning for underperforming areas of service in the routine and pre-survey process.
- Analyzes survey data for root cause analysis, trending, and pro-active education.
- Provides direction and support for active survey management.
- Provides oversight and audit for full compliance with company programs, policies and procedures, and standards of ethics.
Client Relationships
- Create active dialogue and interaction with Division/Regional clinical leaders in large chain accounts.
- Participate in client operations/clinical team meetings for discussion of survey management and outcomes, quality measures, clinical initiatives, and performance concerns.
- Identify clinical leaders/decision makers in local chain or individual accounts for active dialogue and interaction as appropriate.
- Support consistent communication of Senior Life+ initiatives to all clients as appropriate.
Sales and Marketing
- Collaborates with the sales team to represent and market the clinical capabilities of the Senior
LIfe+ Registered Dietitian team. - Participates in sales presentation meeting as appropriate.
Operational Excellence Functions:
- Participates in corporate work groups for strategic planning and product development relative to clinical policies and procedures, clinical infrastructure, and process improvement,
- Participates in Divisional meetings for strategic planning and performance review.
- Participates in other work streams and with SMEs as needed.
- Participates in and performs tasks for Operational Excellence programming and development.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist as accredited by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Licensed in state in accordance with local licensure requirements.
- 5 plus years of experience in Long Term Care in clinical and food service management.
- Can successfully manage multiple administrative duties and field support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Travel, including overnight stays, as necessary. Approximately 50% travel.
Exposure
- Chemical and equipment related hazards associated with kitchen operations.
