Position Summary

- Communicate regularly with physicians, patients, ancillary and surgical areas to schedule, reschedule, and cancel single/multiple tests and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate departmental schedules.
- Provide feedback to manager for human resources functions such as hiring, coaching, and counseling.
- Gather and input patient demographic information, insurance verification/authorization and schedules accurately and efficiently.
- Communicate preparation information, arrival time, location to patients.
- Input and distribute charge management process on a daily basis, schedules, and cancel multiple diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Consistently review schedules daily and communicate all changes to staff.
- Use computer applications, multi-line telephone system, printers, fax machines and required data entry.
- Liaise with clinical and business staff to ensure effective patient management.
- Assist in training/mentoring team members.
- Provide accurate scheduling criteria to expedite patient preparation and arrival.
- Maintain punctual attendance and compliance with policies, ADA, FMLA, and standards.
- Monitor workload each day and prioritize based on department.
- Use medical terminology, multi-line phones, word processing/spreadsheet applications.
- Communicate with Patient Access and clinical departments on registration and scheduling issues.
- Takes a proactive role in problem resolution.
- High school diploma and medical terminology and/or basic anatomy training required.
- Associate’s degree in Business, information systems, clinical field or related may substitute up to two (2) years of experience.
- Three (3) years of experience in clinical registration and scheduling.
