The Orlando Health Emergency Room and Medical Pavilion – Randal Park is a three-story, 42,000-square-foot freestanding emergency room (provided as a service of Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital) and medical pavilion to serve the growing needs of Lake Nona and the Southeast region of Orlando. The stand-alone emergency room is located on the first floor and includes 12 treatment rooms, a lab, an imaging department, ambulance bays and a helipad, along with parking and supporting infrastructure.
This is not an urgent care; services are billed at emergency department rates. The Orlando Health Medical Pavilion – Randal Park offers healthcare services on the second floor with room for additional services on the third floor.

Position Summary
The Environmental Services Technician III is responsible for executing daily duties to establish and maintain a safe, clean, and healing environment. The EVS Tech will have contact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff. Contact may include physical, psychological, educational, safety-related aspects and should be appropriate to the specific demographics of patients served in assigned service areas. Responsibilities include transporting regular waste, soiled linen, weighing and recording clean linen, bio-hazardous waste, recycling waste, maintenance of trash containers, and performing routine manual tasks inside the hospital, operating trash dumpsters, scales, and packaging bio-waste for shipping.
EssentialFunctions
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
- Transports regular waste, bio-hazardous waste, and recycling waste to the designated collection location and prepares for transport in accordance with Department of Transportation and Department of Health standards.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment around the linen room, dumpster/bio-trailer area, and designated areas so the area remains clean and litter-free.
- Empties trash containers and cleans them so they are free from spills and marks.
- Operates outside cleaning equipment, such as pressure washers, leaf blowers, and cart washing machines.
- Maintains the patient and non-patient areas to ensure compliance with mandated and regulatory agency requirements.
- Maintains work areas in a safe manner by utilizing appropriate safety systems to protect patients, customers, and team members.
- Performs cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms and ancillary areas (bathrooms, public areas, corridors, medication storage rooms) and other areas requiring attention using designated chemicals and cleaning procedures.
- Keeps equipment clean and functional; work areas are orderly, clean, and safe.
- Works independently to complete assigned tasks.
- Responds to linen requests from units/departments and delivers clean linen to user areas on established par levels.
Education/Training
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Licensure/Certification
DOT (Department of Transportation) Certification within the first 90 days. Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) preferred. Linen Helper Software or similar software.
Experience
Three (3) or more years in health care support services and/or environmental services, hospitality, or related field, including one (1) or more years’ experience as a porter or warehouse worker.
