Activity Therapist CTRS, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, OT, or PT

Position Summary

The Activity Therapist conducts the activities of activity therapy to improve functioning and independence and to provide activity resources and opportunities for all patients with a focus on improving health and well‑being.

• Master’s degree in Art Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy;
  Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Music Therapy.
• Two years’ experience providing activity therapy, preferably in a psychiatric setting with children, adolescents and adults.
• Registered Art Therapist, Certified Music Therapist, Registered Occupational Therapist, Registered Physical Therapist, or Certified Recreation Therapist credential required.
• Knowledge of activity therapy programming and effective oral & written communication skills. Knowledge of behavioral management, risk management, infection control, common psychiatric diagnoses, fire safety, etc.
• Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations:
  Week 1: M‑F 8 AM‑5 PM.
