Position Summary
The Activity Therapist conducts the activities of activity therapy to improve functioning and independence and to provide activity resources and opportunities for all patients with a focus on improving health and well‑being.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Conduct an activity assessment on patients.
- Facilitate therapeutic activity groups.
- Maintain the health and safety of patients.
- Document evaluations of progress and participate in the treatment team.

- Master’s degree in Art Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy;
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Music Therapy. - Two years’ experience providing activity therapy, preferably in a psychiatric setting with children, adolescents and adults.
- Registered Art Therapist, Certified Music Therapist, Registered Occupational Therapist, Registered Physical Therapist, or Certified Recreation Therapist credential required.
- Knowledge of activity therapy programming and effective oral & written communication skills. Knowledge of behavioral management, risk management, infection control, common psychiatric diagnoses, fire safety, etc.
- Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations:
Week 1: M‑F 8 AM‑5 PM.
