PositionSummary
This self‑motivated team member works independently as well as in a原因 team setting to transport patients, equipment, supplies, and lab specimens throughout the hospital facility. The transporter will help patients get on and off beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs. The team member will maintain a clean and safe environment by disinfecting equipment before and after patient use.

- Provide safe and efficient transport of patients to all areas of the hospital.
- Assess the patient to determine the most effective method for transport, including the use of Transport Tracking Remote Data, entry dispatch system, and ADC telephone switchboard.
- Vocalize and stop a process that may potentially compromise a patient’s safety.
- Be responsible and accountable for reaching individual productivity standards established by the department.
- Maintain all transportation equipment and assure its cleanliness and sanitary condition.
- Proactively prevent fire and safety hazards by storing equipment in designated areas.
- Adjust liter flow and determine PSI in an oxygen tank and transfer an oxygen regulator from one oxygen tank to another.
- Safely remove a telemetry unit from a patient.
- Cooperate effectively and efficiently with team members to consistently meet the changing needs of the patient, department, and/or hospital.
- Assist in the distribution and retrieval of clinical equipment throughout multiple facilities.
- Assist in restocking standby storage areas or return equipment to the equipment room.
- Communicate effectively with internal customers to modify, reschedule, and/or cancel transport requests.
- Critically think and prioritize patient transport requests during peak times and as patient statusreview changes.
- Assist with training and educating new hires in Patient Transportation and Clinical/Orthopedic Equipment Management.
- Inspect equipment for proper condition and place broken equipment out of service.
- Track receipt of all equipment, monitor inventories, and report any back orders or delivery problems to the supervisor.
- Responsibly track daily rental equipment such as specialty beds, wound vacs, and other medical machinery by physical verification and computer‑generated report verification.
