Job Summary
As a CT Technologist II you will deliver safe, accurate, and compassionate diagnostic imaging support, playing a vital role in patient care and clinical decision‑making.
Responsibilities
- Exercise professional judgment in performance of services and maintain a demeanor complementary to quality care.
- Deliver appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
- Comply with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
- Adhere to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
- Assess the patient’s physical condition and age‑specific needs.
- Provide instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
- Perform proper patient identification, acquire patient’s clinical history, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Position patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulate technical factors to achieve high‑quality images for interpretation.
- Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
- Apply principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self and others.
- Comprehend and comply with Quality Control standards and participate in all Quality Control tasks.
- Demonstrate proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without power injectors.
- Perform venipuncture and evaluate IV access for contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Administer medical aid as required in cases of adverse reaction to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
- Apply appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross‑contamination of contagious diseases.
- Assist in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
- Utilize all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
- Ensure safety of all patients and staff.
- Maintain reasonable regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA and other standards.
- Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
- Keep work area and equipment clean, organized, and well‑stocked.
- Provide patient transport as needed.
Qualifications
Education/Training
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Licensure/Certification
- Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida.
- Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (R).
- Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (CT).
- Maintain current AHA BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
Experience
Minimum of two (2) years CT experience and experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Advanced imaging experience and proficiency, including 3D Lab or IR imaging, or Cardiac imaging.
- Site proctor/preceptor for onboarding new hires and cross‑training.
- Primary responsibility:
Dual imaging roles, with current proficiency and routinely performing in secondary modality.
