Interventional Radiology Technologist - Full Time - Interventional Radiology - Bayfront Hospital
Position Summary:
Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.
- Demonstrates professional judgment in service delivery and maintains a demeanor complementary to quality care.
- Delivers appropriate care, recognizes patient conditions, and ensures successful completion of procedures and guidelines.
- Assists the physician in producing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.
- Ensures patient education on procedure performed, safety, and comfort.
- Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
- Adheres to Orlando Health’s mission and strategic imperatives.
- Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age‑specific needs, provides instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
- Performs proper patient identification, acquires clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation and communication to appropriate team members.
- Positions patient, equipment, and associated devices; manipulates technical factors to achieve high‑quality images.
- Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification.
- Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure.
- Complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all QC tasks.
- Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with or without power injectors.
- Applies sterile techniques and personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent cross‑contamination.
- Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions or emergencies.
- Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
- Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
- Demonstrates proficiency in supply usage, charging, and documentation.
- Maintains customer service skills in communication with all staff, visitors, and co‑workers.
- Maintains adequate inventory levels of supplies, equipment, resources, and forms.
- Serves as mentor/preceptor to new staff while maintaining high standards of patient care, documentation, and professionalism.
- Ensures case turnover time is within established department standards by maintaining proper workflow and prioritizing optimal patient care.
- Maintains punctual attendance consistent with policies and federal/state/local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida.
- Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
- Required to maintain BLS/Healthcare provider certification.
