Position Summary:

Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.

• Demonstrates professional judgment in service delivery and maintains a demeanor complementary to quality care.
• Delivers appropriate care, recognizes patient conditions, and ensures successful completion of procedures and guidelines.
• Assists the physician in producing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.
• Ensures patient education on procedure performed, safety, and comfort.
• Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
• Adheres to Orlando Health’s mission and strategic imperatives.
• Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age‑specific needs, provides instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
• Performs proper patient identification, acquires clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation and communication to appropriate team members.
• Positions patient, equipment, and associated devices; manipulates technical factors to achieve high‑quality images.
• Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification.
• Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure.
• Complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all QC tasks.
• Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with or without power injectors.
• Applies sterile techniques and personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent cross‑contamination.
• Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions or emergencies.
• Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
• Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
• Demonstrates proficiency in supply usage, charging, and documentation.
• Maintains customer service skills in communication with all staff, visitors, and co‑workers.
• Maintains adequate inventory levels of supplies, equipment, resources, and forms.
• Serves as mentor/preceptor to new staff while maintaining high standards of patient care, documentation, and professionalism.
• Ensures case turnover time is within established department standards by maintaining proper workflow and prioritizing optimal patient care.
• Maintains punctual attendance consistent with policies and federal/state/local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.

• Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida.
• Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• Required to maintain BLS/Healthcare provider certification.
