Clinical Dietitian (Hematology Oncology)

Position located at Nemours Children’s Health, a pediatric health system serving multiple states.

• Conduct nutrition assessment and intervention for inpatients and outpatients, including high, moderate, and low nutrition risk patients.
• Develop and implement individualized nutritional care plans based on diet history, labs, medications, supplements, medical care plan, growth expectations, and patient demographics.
• Perform nutrition counseling for pediatric patients and caretakers on disease‑specific diets and formula selection.
• Document nutritional assessments and recommendations in the EPIC medical record system.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary team rounds and rounds as necessary.
• Provide recommendations for and prescribe enteral feeding and parenteral nutrition orders when indicated.
• Maintain 100% completion of clinical competencies, including enteral/parenteral prescribing competencies.
• Update teaching materials on nutritional therapies for specific diseases.
• Serve as a nutrition resource for the medical team, hospital staff, and community.
• Coordinate nutritional care with physicians, nurses, social workers, therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, and school personnel.
• Fulfill on‑call responsibilities on a rotating schedule with other dietitian staff.
• Attend continuing education to maintain RD certification and expand knowledge.
• Act as an expert speaker/author on pediatric nutrition topics as appropriate.
• Comply with the RD Clinical Nutrition Ladder and all related requirements.
• Stay current with emerging research and practice guidelines.
• Develop or participate in research projects with other disciplines.

• Registered Dietitian (RD) with valid state licensure.
• Specialty certification in clinical nutrition (e.g., CNSC, CSP) preferred.
• Experience in pediatric and oncology nutrition is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of infant, pediatric, and adult formula composition and ability to calculate specialized formula recipes and meal plans.
• Proficiency in enteral and parenteral nutrition management.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice and continual learning.
