Wiregrass Ranch Hospital is a state‑of‑the‑art facility designed to serve the growing West Florida community. The hospital offers a broad range of services across cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgery, and more, with plans to expand to 300 beds.
The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats speech, language, cognitive‑communication, and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages and acuity levels.
Responsibilities- Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, physicians, interdisciplinary team meetings, family, and other sources.
- Develops treatment plans aligned with the continuum of care, setting specific goals and objectives.
- Assesses patient data and interprets information for age‑specific needs.
- Maintains professional equipment safely and provides explanations of its use.
- Re‑evaluates and modifies treatment plans as needed, preparing written documentation per departmental policies.
- Recognizes and communicates when optimal benefit from speech therapy has been achieved.
- Ensures accurate billing.
- Adheres to the State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and applicable standards.
- Complies with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Participates in performance improvement, program development, student supervision, committees, safety, and infection control as required.
- Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and regulatory compliance.
- Attends rehabilitation meetings, in‑services, and patient care meetings as required.
- Practices efficient use of supplies and equipment, instructing support personnel as necessary.
Master’s degree in speech/language pathology from an approved program.
Licensure & Certification- Certificate of Clinical Competence
- Current Speech Language Pathologist license in the State of Florida
- Current BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification
Entry Level. Full‑time employment. Health Care Provider.
