Position: MRI Technologist II (ORMC) PRN

Position Summary

Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) is expanding its team of MRI technologists who are dedicated to meeting all imaging needs of our community. ORMC is a patient‑focused hospital with a strong emphasis on teamwork and inclusiveness. We ALWAYS provide exceptional care, treating our patients like family. Our MRI techs go above and beyond to achieve the best image quality possible. As a Level 1 Trauma Center, you will learn all aspects of a high‑quality MRI department, performing multiple specialty exams (breast, cardiac, biopsies, fMRI, LITT) to support the Center’s and Institute’s missions.

Later this year, we will open our first inter‑operative MRI suite to support advanced neuro procedures and focused ultrasound treatment for Essential Tremor and Parkinson’s.

Location Summary

ORMC’s MRI Department brings the highest level of MRI capabilities to downtown Orlando. The department actively contributes to the local community through initiatives and programs, partnering with Jewett Orthopedic and the Neuro Sciences Institute.

Schedule

PRN; 7:00 pm to 7:30 am; as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/or intervention.
  • Exercise professional judgment in performing services and maintain a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
  • Deliver appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
  • Comply with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Adhere to OR Health mission statements and commitment to excellence standards.
  • Assess the patient’s physical condition and age‑specific needs.
  • Provide instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Perform proper patient identification, acquire patient’s clinical history and assure accurate documentation.
  • Position patient, equipment, associated devices, and manipulate technical factors to achieve high‑quality images for interpretation.
  • Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Apply principles of MRI safety to patients, self, and others.
  • Comprehend and comply with quality control standards and participate in all quality control tasks.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without the use of power injectors.
  • Administer medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
  • Apply appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross‑contamination of contagious diseases.
  • Assist in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
  • Utilize all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensure safety of all customers.
  • Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with OR Health policies and the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
