The Master Stylist engages guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. This role supports the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager, focusing on service sales, productivity, guest service, and compliance.

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing where applicable.
• Meet or exceed the sales goal of $1,250 average weekly sales and productivity goals for hair services while supporting retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink objectives.
• Demonstrate products to guests to drive sales and enhance guest experience.
• Support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services, and explain their benefits to guests.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and suitable retail/service recommendations.
• Serve walk‑in and scheduled guests efficiently.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a total‑store guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peer and brand partners to deliver exceptional experiences.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, on the salon and sales floor.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.

• Know and adhere to Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures, including state board guidelines.
• Use established service protocols to ensure consistency.
• Utilize booking and clientele systems for return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager, ensuring guest readiness.
• Maintain store operational standards across all areas.
• Follow the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Apply loss prevention practices and provide exceptional service.
• Perform other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.

• Previous relevant work experience is required.

• Proficiency with latest salon techniques for haircutting, haircolor, lightening, styling, texture, treatment, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals needed for technical work.
• Ability to recommend and sell pro hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication and customer relationship skills.
• Independent and team‑oriented work style.

• Work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Continuous mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting or moving up to 10 lbs during shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting during shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods during shift.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.
