As a pivotal strategic partner, you will own the financial integrity of the company—from high-level cash flow management and contract negotiation to deep-dive product/cost analysis and business case development. This role is designed for a proactive expert who thrives on variety, moves at a relentless pace, and is ready to make a highly visible, tangible impact on our operational success.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the month-end close, including the personal preparation of journal entries, reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, and variance analysis of the financial statements.
- Lead the development of accounting reports and the optimization of the functionality of the company’s enterprise resource planning software, Sage X3.
- Conduct rigorous financial analysis and prepare supporting schedules required for internal and external reporting and for use in the preparation of the tax provision and tax return.
- Oversee all inventory valuation, including the meticulous tracking and valuing of all materials, work in progress, and finished goods at month-end.
- Manage the cycle count program and annual physical inventory count, including the critical review of inventory obsolescence and excess inventory in accordance with company policy.
- Support the Sales Team with evaluating customer credit applications and determining appropriate credit limits based on risk and in accordance with company policy.
- Lead the preparation of the annual budget.
- Implement necessary financial and IT controls to ensure a strong and compliant internal control environment.
- Perform other related ad-hoc reporting and analysis as necessary to support this fast-paced environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Progress toward or completion of a CPA is required.
- Proven leadership skills in team management and people development.
- Ten plus years of relevant experience, including a heavy emphasis on strong cost accounting.
- Experience in accounting for the manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
- Experience utilizing Sage X3 is a significant plus.
- Hands-on experience and knowledge of all aspects of accounting, financial analysis, and planning, including forecasting, budgeting, cost/benefit analysis, cash flow analysis, cost reduction initiatives, and capital evaluation.
- Expert analytical and Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and interpret high volumes of data.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees of all levels.
- Highly responsive to requests, with a high attention for detail and accuracy under pressure.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be flexible and able to multi-task in a time-sensitive, high-pressure environment.
