The position performs post‑award sponsored program functions associated with the post‑award administration of awards. The Post Award Finance Specialist II is responsible for the management of sponsored awards from award setup through the project closeout. This position reports to a Post Award Finance Specialist III.
Responsibilities- Review award documents to identify necessary critical information and perform all data entry functions in the Research Administration system for new awards, modifications, extensions, budget transfers, no‑cost extensions, etc.
- Interpret and implement post‑award policies and financial compliance regarding sponsored research projects.
- Ensure appropriate setup and management of sponsored projects and maintain accurate documentation to demonstrate adherence to compliance requirements and any special award terms and conditions.
- Analyze award terms for allowability and allocability and ensure that costs are consistently handled per UCF policy and sponsor requirements.
- Review statement of work and other contract and grant requirements for various sponsors including federal, state, municipal, or private organizations depending on the Hub to which they are assigned.
- Act as a primary point of contact for matters related to executed sponsored projects and serve as a liaison between the PI, sponsor and UCF for all executed awards.
- Work with department administrators, PIs and sponsors to ensure smooth functioning of the award through its life cycle, including assisting with pre‑expenditure reviews in Workday and performing administrative closeout functions as needed.
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in financial or compliance‑related roles involving data entry, reporting, or procedural oversight.
- Experience in sponsored project support, preferably in an institution of higher education.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving expertise with hands‑on experience in troubleshooting complex issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Familiarity with Huron Research Suite and Workday, or similar research administration systems, and demonstrated adaptability to new technologies and platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook for daily administrative and communication tasks.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $56,030 to $68,636.50. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
