Corporate Controller

We are a newly established company comprising Managing General Agents (MGAs) operating across the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe. With a growing team of approximately 700 employees, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to build and lead our corporate accounting and financial reporting functions.

• Assist Global Controller & Chief Accounting Officer with global accounting and finance initiatives, including:
• Design and implementation of new ERP
• Design of consolidated financial reporting, internal and external (US GAAP and UK GAAP)
• Build out of budgeting/forecasting process and reporting
• Technical accounting matters, as needed
• Accounting policy design/implementation, and process improvement initiatives across the company’s global accounting operations.
• Build out and manage the corporate accounting and financial reporting functions ensuring compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
• Own the purchase accounting function for the company.
• Act as a finance business partner to corporate functional managers, supporting decision‑making and financial planning.
• Prepare and review journal entries, financial statements, ad‑hoc and recurring reporting, reconciliations and analytics.
• Supervise corporate accounting team and review work product. Responsible for recruitment, performance evaluation, and any recommendations for promotion or termination of corporate accounting team members.
• Meet internal and external reporting requirements.
• Partner with global and local controllers/accounting teams.
• Coordinate cash flow needs with corporate treasury for payments to business partners and vendors.
• Assist with special projects and other tasks, as assigned.

• The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting and over 8 years of diverse and progressive accounting and financial reporting management experience.
• Must hold an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• Strong leadership, management, problem solving and analytical skills are required.
• Experience working in or for a multi‑national company dealing with multiple currencies is highly preferred.
• Experience in the insurance intermediary (MGA, broker) industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of statutory and UK GAAP accounting standards is preferred.
• Knowledge of Oracle is preferred.
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and vlookups are necessary.
• Ability to effectively deal with all levels of management and successfully communicate with auditors.
• The ability to organize and control the monthly‑quarterly‑annual closing process including annual statement production to ensure financials are completed in a timely and accurate manner is essential
