Position Overview

Laser Photonics Corp, a publicly traded company, is seeking an experienced Head of Reporting to lead all internal and external financial reporting activities. This role is responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of financial reporting, with primary accountability for SEC filings, technical accounting, and internal management reporting.

The Head of Reporting will work closely with the CFO, Controller, executive team, and business leaders to ensure robust financial reporting, strong internal controls, and full regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities External Reporting (SEC & Regulatory)
  • Own all SEC and regulatory reporting, including 10‑K, 10‑Q, 8‑K, proxy statements, and other required filings.
  • Ensure all external reporting complies with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, stock exchange rules, and other applicable standards.
  • Lead the preparation and review of quarterly earnings materials, financial statement footnotes, and related disclosures.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Investor Relations, and senior leadership on disclosure matters.
Internal Management Reporting
  • Oversee internal financial reporting packages for executive management and the Board.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity of financial information to support decision‑making.
  • Partner with FP&A to align external and internal reporting, forecasts, and key performance metrics.
Accounting, Controls & Compliance
  • Oversee the technical accounting and consolidation processes related to reporting.
  • Ensure strong internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Lead coordination with external auditors on quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Develop, document, and enhance financial reporting policies, procedures, and systems.
Technical Accounting & Transactions
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, stock‑based compensation, M&A, impairments).
  • Evaluate the impact of new accounting standards and lead implementation efforts.
  • Support transaction‑related reporting for M&A, divestitures, and capital markets activities.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Leadership
  • Partner with the CFO, Controller, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Legal, and Operations to ensure data integrity and consistent reporting.
  • Present reporting matters and key accounting judgments to senior leadership and the Audit Committee as needed.
  • Mentor and develop a high‑performing reporting and technical accounting team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and reporting experience, including significant experience in a publicly traded company or Big 4/public accounting with SEC‑reporting clients.
  • Direct experience leading or playing a key role in SEC reporting (10‑K, 10‑Q, 8‑K, etc.) and SOX compliance.
  • Deep technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and public company reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating external audits and managing complex accounting issues.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to develop and retain top talent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex accounting and reporting matters to non‑financial stakeholders.
  • High integrity, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and compliance.
