Sr. Financial Consultant – Physician Compensation and Analytics
Position Summary: Responsible for the creation, execution and refinement of financial analyses, processes, accounting, reporting, reimbursement and other finance and accounting related activities.
Essential Functions- Serves as a finance business partner to executive leadership on a regular basis.
- Responsible for financial oversight of complex financial functions and processes including support to multiple business units.
- Supports business planning processes, the development of annual operating and capital budgets, accounting related business processes, financial reporting, decision support and cost accounting, regulatory filing or other similar finance and accounting related activities.
- Provides internal and external customers with accurate and timely data to support strategic decision-making and compliance.
- Provides accurate internal and external financial accounting and reporting.
- Provides resources, project management, and specialized knowledge to assure effective and timely completion of projects.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Develops and prepares financial and statistical reports to support leadership in business development, strategic planning and financial performance review.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining reporting to evaluate financial performance compared to key performance indicators.
- Develops and interprets reports to assist leadership with evaluation of trends and/or changes in business practice.
- Develops predictive models to assist management with the evaluation of changing regulatory and market forces.
- Assists with long‑term plan, annual budget and forecast development, including the gathering of necessary data, development of supporting models, collaborating with internal partners to determine assumptions and establish key benchmarks.
- Develops monthly, quarterly and ad‑hoc forecasts to provide direction and insight for decision making.
- Collects, analyzes and presents financial information to assist leadership in identifying risks and opportunities.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships throughout the organization, community and within the field of healthcare.
- Provides direction and perspective on strategic business decisions.
- Remains current on industry trends, key competitors and other market forces.
- Champions best practices and assesses process improvement opportunities that drive improved efficiency and productivity.
- Assists with initiatives to improve planning processes and to support strategic development with timely analysis of data.
- Collaborates with corporate accounting and leadership to identify challenges and priorities.
- Assists with financial modeling, analysis and valuation of new service lines and businesses.
- Responsible for identifying, developing and maintaining accounting journal entries in the assigned area.
- Maintains an understanding of current GAAP applicable to the area.
- Maintains assigned accounting related systems such as general ledger, fixed assets and other applications, and related upgrade implementation planning, testing, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external individuals and firms that are the sources of necessary information for the preparation of accounting entries.
- Oversees and reviews the work of assigned accounting and financial analyst staff to ensure accurate and timely accounting and reporting.
- Prepares annual cost reports, AHCA and other regulatory filings.
- Develops and maintains adequate internal controls over financial reporting and protection of assets.
- Monitors records retention for all departmental records, producing as needed for auditors.
- Manages the external audit process, ensuring accurate and timely provision of requested items to the auditors.
