Schwab Advisor Services (AS), a division of Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., is the leading provider of custody, trading, technology, and practice management to registered independent advisory firms (RIAs). AS offers sophisticated wealth services that help advisors attract and retain affluent clients, as well as grow, compete, and succeed in their business efforts.
The AS Wealth Services Experience Team supports and influences the portfolio of wealth‑management‑related products and offers—including investment‑focused, banking and lending, and trading products. The team develops and maintains a strategic vision and roadmap for these offerings, ensuring they align with AS business objectives and address the needs of RIAs and their end‑clients.
In this role, the Director will partner with product development, digital, and strategy teams both inside and outside AS to deliver client‑experience initiatives and overall product support. The Director will define the roadmap to launch, drive adoption and education of each offer, support ongoing maintenance, and demonstrate ownership over the AS client experience with the Managed Investing shelf of products.
Key Contributions- Manage and own the Managed Investing experience in Advisor Services.
- Collaborate across stakeholders to develop a cohesive vision, experience, and roadmap for the Managed suite of platforms (Managed Account Select, Access, Marketplace, Model Market Center, Schwab Personalized Indexing, UMA/UMH, and overlay manager/tax management capabilities).
- Become an expert in managed investing needs, expectations, and pain points; assess competitive environment, industry trends, and current strengths and gaps.
- Develop a foundational understanding and long‑term strategic view of potential product/offer opportunities with product partners in Wealth & Advice Solutions, Strategy, Digital, and other key stakeholder teams.
- Partner on AS business goals and product strategic viewpoints with product partners across the Schwab organization.
- Work with vendors or third parties who provide capabilities that advisors desire and could drive economic benefit to Schwab.
- Champion the needs of AS clients across the broader organization.
- Participate in or drive client/market research initiatives on specific product/offer opportunities to bring the voice of the client closer to business.
- Proactive mindset:
Demonstrated initiative in gathering insights, understanding business priorities, and driving solutions. - Strong written, verbal, and influencing skills to advocate for advisors and end‑clients across multiple stakeholders at Schwab and with external vendors.
- Relationship building:
Proven ability to create and leverage internal networks to drive platform initiatives. - Ability to work in both a strategic and executional capacity; prioritize effectively and manage stakeholders in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) working with investment advisors, preferably RIAs, with a deep understanding of the intersection between wealth management products and advisors offering them.
- Knowledge of Schwab’s and/or other managed platforms within the managed investing space, including separately managed accounts, models, UMA/UMH, and direct indexing.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to develop actionable recommendations and execution plans.
In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
